ADHD Refill Policy

Stimulant medications are controlled substances, and the rules around them are stricter than for most prescriptions. This page explains how refills work here so you are never caught short.

The short version

  • Call (502) 454-8800 at least three business days before you run out.
  • Refills are written only for patients who are current with their scheduled visits.
  • Controlled prescriptions are not written after hours, on weekends, or on holidays.
  • We do not accept medical details or refill requests by email.

Why the visit interval matters

Kentucky requires ongoing in-person or telehealth oversight for controlled medication. Keeping your scheduled appointment is what allows your prescriber to write the next prescription without a gap. If you need to reschedule, call as early as you can.

Pharmacy changes

Tell us your pharmacy name and location when you request the refill. Sending a controlled prescription to the wrong pharmacy delays it by days.

What happens next

  1. 1Call (502) 454-8800 three business days ahead with your pharmacy details.
  2. 2Our staff confirm you are current with visits and route the request to your prescriber.
  3. 3Your prescriber sends the prescription electronically; the pharmacy texts or calls you.

Common questions

How far in advance should I request an ADHD refill?

Call at least three business days before you run out. Controlled prescriptions cannot be back-dated or called in after hours, so early requests prevent gaps.

How often do I need to be seen?

Most patients on stimulant medication are seen at regular intervals set by their prescriber. Your provider will tell you your interval at your visit and it is noted on your after-visit summary.

Can refills be requested by email?

No. Email is not a secure channel and nothing on this website should be used to send medical details. Call (502) 454-8800 and our staff will route your request.

What if my prescription is lost or stolen?

Call the office. Controlled prescriptions cannot always be replaced, and a police report may be required. We will tell you exactly what is needed.
